Plant Manager

Rocky Top Wood Preservers/Rocky Top Building Products, Inc, a pressure treating manufacturer and building products distributor, seeks a successful individual to fill the role of Plant Manager in our Hagerstown, Maryland facility.

Individual will be involved in all aspects of managing the treating facility, including: production, shipping and receiving, safety, quality, cost management, efficiency, etc. This is a “hands-on” position requiring management ability and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be able to:

Plan daily production including treatment, stock rotation, stacking, and shipping.
Ensure that the plant processes run efficiently and cost effectively.
Communicate with supervisors to prioritize production needs.
Supervise all plant employees.
Analyze, coordinate, and organize plant operations and procedures to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of all products.
Monitors the quality of all production processes, with emphasis on the treating process.
Ensure plant cleanliness.
Ensure plant compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire, and other regulatory programs, as well as all Company programs, policies and procedures.
Ensure plant property and equipment is properly maintained, and order parts and equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

A college degree and two-three years of related experience, or a minimum of five years of related experience.
Planning, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with plant and fork lift maintenance is a plus, as well as forklift operating ability.

The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, excellent listener, speaker, and communicator. Must be willing to relocate for career advancement.

Experience in the lumber industry is a plus, particularly experience in a pressure treating facility.

Rocky Top Wood Preservers/Rocky Top Building Products, Inc is a privately owned company headquartered in Rocky Mount, VA. Production facilities are located in Rocky Mount, VA; Hagerstown, MD; and Fombell, PA. Dimension lumber (2x4s, 2x6s, 4x4s, etc.) is purchased from various lumber mills and treated using a vacuum and pressure process to apply water-borne chemicals, which protect the wood from deterioration due to fungus and insects.

Outside Customer Service Representative

Rocky Top Building Products; a distributor of pressure treated lumber and building products, headquartered in Rocky Mount, VA; seeks a successful individual to fill the role of Outside Customer Service Representative for the Frederick, Maryland, Washington, DC area.

This position is responsible for establishing and preserving strong customer relations, helping to grow company sales, and educating customers about our product lines. The Outside Customer Sales Representative will be selling our home building products to assigned stores, advising customers on trends, and increasing customer satisfaction. This individual will be involved in all aspects of handling The Home Depot customer service function. This is a “hands-on” position requiring strong customer service skills and sales ability in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be able to:

· Train customer sales staff on products and special projects such as deck building.

· Ensures appropriate customer inventory levels.

· Inspects all inventory displays to ensure they are presentable for customers.

· Builds displays to promote business.

· Inspects lumber in response to customer complaints to make recommendations to management regarding

resolution.

· Interacts with customers to promote positive customer relations.

· Assists customers with installations.

Qualifications:

One to three years of related customer service and sales experience.
Planning, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational skills.

Experience in the lumber industry is a plus.

Outside Sales Representative

Position located in the New Jersey area

Summary: The responsibilities of this job include selling company products, and establishing and preserving strong customer relationships, by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Travels to retail and wholesale companies to make sales of lumber and building materials.
Communicates with managers and owners of businesses to make sales
Negotiates prices of sales.
Advises customers on lumber trends and pricing.
Increases customer satisfaction to develop partnerships with clients.
Establishes loyalty programs to increase confidence and profitability.
Gives presentations on product lines using brochures and samples.
Educates customers on the new chemicals used in treatment.
Inspects all inventory displays to ensure that they are presentable for retail customers.
Inspects lumber for any customer complaints to make recommendations to management.
Contacts departments within company to accurately complete sales.
Attends trade shows to promote business and enhance sales.
Performs other duties or projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Two to three years of related customer service and sales. Planning, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational skills.
